About us The Civitan International Research Center (CIRC) is an interdisciplinary center dedicated to improving lives through neurodevelopmental research and the prevention and treatment of developmental disabilities. Established in 1989, the CIRC now includes over 100 scientists, clinicians, and research staff from around the globe. The mission of the Civitan International Research Center is to improve the well-being and the quality of life of individuals and families affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities. Pilot Grant and Travel Award Programs We support neurodevelopment research through the following pilot grant and award programs. Travel Awards A $1200 one-time travel award is provided for trainees to attend and present at a national or international scientific meeting/conference on participation in conferences on neurodevelopmental disabilities. UAB's Civitan International Research Center is offering Trainee Travel Awards to support participation in conferences on neurodevelopmental disabilities.
