Grant Policy & Application Process
The Venice Yacht Club Charitable Foundation (VYCCF) is a nonprofit organization whose
mission is to mobilize the collective goodwill of our community to improve the lives of our
neighbors, including those who are most vulnerable. A primary method for accomplishing
this mission is through awarding grants to charities that serve Venice and the surrounding
community.
Eligible Applicants
In order to be considered for a grant from the Venice Yacht Club Charitable Foundation, an
organization must:
1. Benefit the greater Venice, Florida community, and
2. Be a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Funding Priorities & Exclusions
Grants typically range between $1,000 - $5,000 with an occasional larger signature grant,
and are made to support projects that are consistent with our mission and address one or
more of the following categories:
Children & Youth Education & Literacy
(including Youth Boating)
Hunger The Arts
Homelessness The Environment
Veterans Physical & Mental Health
The VYCCF Board may establish annual priorities to rotate specific areas of focus.
The Venice Yacht Club Charitable Foundation does not fund:
Political organizations or campaigns.
Religious purposes.
Grants to individuals or private foundations.
Endowments for other organizations.
Requests are evaluated based on the degree to which they meet the following criteria:
Addresses a current community need.
Makes a difference in the lives of a significant number of people in the service area.
Promotes volunteer involvement.
Balance of financial need and viability of the organization.
Outcomes achieved / history with prior grants if previously funded by VYCCF.

Application Process
Two grantmaking cycles are conducted annually following these steps:
1. If your organization has a VYCCF Ambassador, please contact them prior to the
application deadline, as necessary.
2. If the applicant is new to VYCCF, please complete and submit the application prior to
the deadline.
3. Applicants complete the VYCCF Grant Request Form (available from VYCCF
Ambassadors or on our website). The completed form and required attachments are
submitted by email to the email address on the bottom of the application, by the
relevant application deadline.
4. Members of the VYCCF Community Outreach Committee individually rate each
application based on established evaluation criteria.
5. The committee’s funding votes are then forwarded for ratification by the VYCCF Board.
6. Applicants will receive formal written notification of funding decisions, within one
month of the Board meeting.

Award Policies
Grantees are asked to participate with VYCCF in a ceremonial presentation of the funding
award, and to provide public acknowledgement of a VYCCF grant on project sites and in
project communications. Grantees are also strongly encouraged to make purchases of
materials and services from local businesses when utilizing VYCCF funds.
