Upper Arlington Community Foundation The Upper Arlington Community Foundation (UACF) supports ideas and proposals that represent a wide variety of fields such as social services, health and wellness services, environment and conservation, arts, senior services, community beautification, and community recreation. The grants committee, comprised of Advisory Board members of UACF, reviews the applications and makes recommendations to the full advisory board of UACF, who approves and awards the grants. Good Neighbor Fund The Foundation’s Good Neighbor Fund was established in 2017 to help Upper Arlington residents who have a unique unforeseen event happen in their lives that threatens their stability. These one-time-only emergency financial assistance grants provide up to $3,000 to help UA neighbors take care of one another in times of need. This fund ensures that a safety net is available to UA neighbors when they need it the most. This fund is specifically for one-time emergency assistance due to an event that seriously jeopardizes the recipient’s ability to meet basic needs. This fund serves as a last resort for those with urgent needs who have exhausted all other options for financial assistance. Create a project that’s built to last: To ensure the best use of funds available for grants, the grants committee evaluates applications using the following criteria: Proposed project is likely to continue and expand after the grant periodGrant award will serve as “seed money” for new and dynamic projectsGrant request is compatible with the mission and purpose of UACFGrant will promote or create collaboration among groups and individualsExisting funding resources in the defined area of the grant request compliance of grantee with reporting requirements for any prior grantsCompliance of grantee with reporting requirements for any prior grants

Ineligibility

UACF generally does not approve grants to support the following requests: operating expenses, deficit financing for programs, capital expenditures, endowments, religious purposes or organizations, annual appeals, membership contributions, conferences, recognition or fundraising events.
