Union Plus Job Loss Grants

Overview: Financial assistance grants for Union Plus credit card holders experiencing job loss, strikes, furloughs, or other financial hardships.

Geographic Scope: United States

Eligibility Requirements:

Job Loss Grants

Must hold a Union Plus credit card
Must have been out of work for 90 days or longer
May apply up to 12 months after job loss date (previously 6 months)
Provides $250 one-time grant

Strike/Lockout Grants

Must hold a Union Plus credit card
Must be on strike or locked out for 30 or more consecutive days
Provides $250 payment made directly to Union Plus credit card account

Furlough Grants

Must hold a Union Plus credit card
Applicant or spouse must have been furloughed for 15 days or more within a 6-month period
Provides $250 one-time payment to Union Plus credit card account

Award Amount: $250 per grant

Program History:

Since program inception, more than 900 Union Plus cardholders have received $225,000 in grants

Program was expanded in 2011 to allow up to 12 months for job loss applications

Additional hardship grants added for strikes and furloughs
