Overview

The UGLI Club Grant is a grant-funded program to help schools create inclusive communities and provide a safe space for students to prevent and cope with bullying behavior. Schools can receive up to $2,000 to incorporate an anti-bullying club and will receive turnkey resources that meet the Texas Education Code's minimum standards for bullying prevention.

Background

According to Texas Education Code's minimum standards for bullying prevention, public schools in Texas are required to:
• Integrate research-based anti-bullying content into instruction
• Include cyberbullying in their anti-bullying policies
• Notify parents of bullying incidents
• Collaborate with law enforcement in serious cases
• Encourage mental health support

The Foundation recognizes that schools do not receive funding to implement these required practices.

Partnership

UGLI partners with Lightspeed Systems to provide schools with funding and content to comply with state mandates and serve as a resource for schools, parents, educators, and administrators.
