The Georgetown Project Scholarship

Geographic Scope: Georgetown, Texas (GISD - Georgetown Independent School District)

Purpose: This scholarship is designed for students who have demonstrated resilience and are committed to achieving their academic and personal goals, despite any barriers they may face. The program seeks individuals who show perseverance, a strong work ethic, and determination in their studies and pursuits, not necessarily academic ranking or leadership positions.

    The scholarship honors:
  • Barbara Baldwin Pearce - Founding partner of The Georgetown Project, instrumental community member in youth and family advocacy
  • Jim Mitchell - Local businessman who valued education, founded Partners in Education, Mitchell Elementary named after him
  • Chip Richarte - Beloved school nurse in the district, Richarte High School named after her
