Overview

NOTE: Grant applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and will remain open while funds are available. Proposals of $2,500 or less are called Sponsorships. These require submitting a Preliminary Application. These are accepted at any time throughout the year while funds are still available. Proposals for program grants greater than $2,500 can be discussed with the program staff throughout the year. An application will be provided if program is deemed eligible. The Dr. JoAnn Crisp-Ellert Fund offers sponsorships to nonprofit organizations for projects which promote visual art or visual art education in St. Augustine. Dr. JoAnn Crisp-Ellert was well-known for her academic and artistic pursuits. She received her BFA from Syracuse University, and her MFA and Ph.D. from American University. Dr. Ellert was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Yale University, and studied both at the Royal College of Art and at the Sorbonne. She exhibited internationally, and is represented in numerous private and public collections. To honor her artistic legacy, her husband, Dr. Robert Ellert, established the Dr. JoAnn Crisp-Ellert Fund.
