Overview: The Marfa Education Foundation makes grants available to all teachers for books, materials, supplies, or software to enhance teaching in their classrooms. Each year more and more teachers apply, and MEF increases the tools available to teachers.

Example Projects Funded

Teachers have requested:
• Music stands for students learning to read music
• Scientific calculators for 8th graders
• Scanner pens to help dyslexic students learn to read and write
• Scholastic News Magazine for 3rd grade current events literacy
• Novel Studies curriculum for high school English students
• Funding for students to attend statewide conferences (e.g., Texas student council conference)
