About Us Our Mission The Catholic Community Foundation fosters faith-based stewardship for the charitable, educational, and spiritual needs of our diocese. Catholic Identity We support the advancement of the work of the Church in Northeast Ohio, ensuring that our investments and grant recipients are in alignment with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church. Service We help donors continue the mission of Jesus to transform the world by connecting their support to ministries and services that lift up the Catholic community as well as the entire community. Tabor Fund The Tabor Fund Grant Program was established to continue the mission of Tabor House Consultation Center. Awards are intended to provide an opportunity for applicants to refresh and/or re-energize their spirituality, faith, mind and/or physical wellbeing, as part of fostering personal development and improving their ministry. Awards will be made in the following categories: Education and Formation, Sabbaticals and Retreats. Types of Grants Education and Formation: Seminars, conferences and other educational experiences will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how the conference will be used for ministry renewal. For example: a conference to combat compassion fatigue is a good fit for a Tabor Fund Grant. Sabbaticals: For the support of individual ministers in an opportunity for respite. The period of the sabbatical must be more than 30 days. Retreats: Organized retreats led by others, or development of staff retreats. The period of the retreat must be 30 days or less.Eligibility

Any bona fide employee (paid or volunteer), lay, deacons or religious who works in a recognized ministry and is actively serving the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.While deacons cannot receive monies for themselves from a Tabor grant because they have a continuing fund stipulated by the Bishop, they can make use of the Tabor grants for development of programs for groups or ministries with which they workAttendant parishes, schools or organizations that are engaged in a recognized ministry are eligible to apply. Ministry is broadly defined and applies to anyone engaged in ministry from deacons, religious orders, pastoral ministers, and parish/school staff to ministers of the liturgy.All materials, retreats, and events must be developed and conducted by a recognized Catholic entity or group of entities consistent with the moral and social teaching of the Catholic Church.Ineligibility
Please note that grant funds must go to the sponsoring organization of the applicant (parish or school), not to the individual or retreat center, conference, etc.The Following Types of Requests Will Not Be Considered:Grant awards cannot be used to complete an educational class, course, curriculum or any requirement for certification/graduation or professional development. Reimbursement for past sessions. Hosting fundraisers. Multi-year or renewable support.
