Core Grants Program

The Seybert Foundation supports organizations working to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged children and youth in the City of Philadelphia. Our grants are made in the form of General Operating Support to those organizations whose missions align with that of the Foundation.

Established under the Will of Henry Seybert, and chartered in 1914 as the Adam and Maria Sarah Seybert Institution for Poor Boys and Girls of Philadelphia, the Seybert Foundation directs its giving primarily to community-based organizations in the City of Philadelphia providing direct services to disadvantaged children and youth, with annual operating budgets of less than $1.5 million.

Eligibility

* Your organization’s primary target population must be children and youth, and you must provide direct services.
* The majority of your services must be directed to youth in the City of Philadelphia, not the region.
* Your organization’s annual operating budget must be less than $1.5 million

* Note: in some cases, those programs that are operating under the fiscal sponsorship of an umbrella organization are eligible to apply, regardless of the size of that sponsor’s annual operating budget.

* You must have filed at least one 990 with the IRS as a 501 c 3 exempt organization.
* All requests must be for General Operating Support, so please do not request funds for a specific program or project.

Ineligibility

* Please note that Seybert Foundation discourages applications from schools. While we fund many organizations that operate programming in schools, we do not currently provide operating support for schools themselves.
