SECURA Insurance Companies Charitable Fund Grants

SECURA Insurance Companies Charitable Fund Grants support local nonprofit organizations in the Fox Valley area that provide essential services such as food, clothing, shelter, arts, education, and environmental initiatives. Grants are awarded by SECURA’s Community Commitment Committee, which evaluates applications based on community impact. Eligible organizations include public charities and government units serving the Foundation’s service area, while ineligible projects include political affiliations and general operational costs.

Purpose
SECURA’s Community Commitment Committee, with assistance from Community Foundation staff, awards grants to groups providing needed services in the communities the company serves. All decisions are made by a committee with representation from across all departments.
Local Fox Valley nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations
Requests from outside the Fox Valley area will be considered if a SECURA associate is actively involved with the nonprofit
Causes that support basic needs (food, clothing, and shelter), arts/culture, youth education/development, economic/civic development, and the environment will be considered

Eligibility

Organizations eligible to receive grants from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region are those determined by the IRS to be public charities.This encompasses most charitable, scientific, social service, educational and religious organizations described in § 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1), (a)(2), or (a)(3) of the tax code, and private operating foundations.Grants may also be made to units of government (this includes Native American tribal governments) for public purposes.Organizations that are not public charities may apply through a fiscal sponsor.Organizations must serve residents of the Foundation’s service area including Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, Waupaca and/or northern Winnebago counties.See full details of eligibility criteria here.

Ineligibility

State or national fundraising campaigns or mass appeal (unless funds are for local use)
Governmental entities (e.g., police/fire departments, parks, public libraries, etc.), schools, or school capital campaigns
Sports clubs or sports team sponsorships
General operational costs (e.g., administrative salaries, rent, utilities, etc.)
Building a “nest egg” for the future
SECURA will not typically award more than one grant to an organization within a calendar year
