Roy and Ida Eagle Foundation The Roy and Ida Eagle Foundation was established in 2009 with an initial gift from Roy D. Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Eagle were married in Carson City, Nevada in 1936 and lived in Santa Barbara, California until their deaths (his in 2007, hers in 1998). Since its inception, the Foundation has invested in a wide range of non-profit organizations in the areas of Health and Human Services, Education, Wildlife and Domestic Animals, focusing primarily on Northern Santa Barbara County. Mission The Roy and Ida Eagle Foundation recognizes that Family is the fundamental unit of society and that a Community can be no stronger than its families. The family is the best place to promote the time-honored virtues of character and civility, to develop life skills and citizenship, and to avoid the problems that weaken society. The best way to improve a community is to strengthen families and improve the environment in which they live. The purpose and activities of the Foundation are to seek out and provide funding to charitable and governmental organizations that provide services to encourage and strengthen the family unit as well as provide care and protection for domestic animals and indigenous wildlife. The types of organizations that meet the purpose of the Foundation include but are not limited to those that provide educational opportunities, meet emergency needs, promote character development and self reliance, provide medical assistance to those without sufficient resources; and organizations that provide for the protection of animals in their community. Focus Areas Consideration is given to organizations primarily in the North Santa Barbara County region and Kern County with the following charitable purposes: Educational OpportunitiesSupport to Abused Women and Children / Violence Prevention Health Care Services Critical needs Animal Protection and Welfare The Roy and Ida Eagle Foundation is currently accepting grant applications on an invitation only basis. If you feel your organizations request is consistent with our mission, we welcome you to submit, via email, a brief 1-2 page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) by April 30, 2025.Eligibility
