2025-2027 PFE Council Statewide Training Grant Program Description This grant facilitates statewide training for the goals and objectives of the Texas Council on Parent and Family Engagement (PFE), a statewide council focused on implementing the parent and family engagement requirements of the ESSA statute. Eligibility The eligible applicant is Region 16 Education Service Center Grant at a Glance Program Purpose, Goals, and Objectives This grant facilitates statewide training for the goals and objectives of the Texas Council on Parent and Family Engagement (PFE), a statewide council focused on implementing the parent and family engagement requirements of the ESSA statute. This grant will facilitate and provide statewide training to ESCs and school systems around the goals of state council, which include: (1) building the capacity of TEA to embed family and community engagement across agency priorities and federal programs; (2) building the capacity of school systems to meaningfully engage parents; and (3) engage family and community stakeholders to inform implementation of ESSA. The grant’s tasks will include items such as identifying evidence-based strategies for training school systems on meaningful family engagement under ESSA and training school systems on teaching parents to navigate the public school system. The Texas Council on Parent and Family Engagement provides advice and input to TEA to inform TEA priorities and ESSA implementation, aligned to the commissioner’s priorities. This input will be used to help build state, ESC, and school system capacity for meaningful engagement of family, school, and community stakeholders. The council will do this by informing the following audiences: TEA leadership and program leadsSchool system administrators The Texas Council on Parent and Family Engagement meets quarterly at TEA or other locations within the state with the following goals: Build state capacity to embed family and community engagement across agency priorities and federal programs.Build school system and ESC capacity to meaningfully engage parents.Engage family and community stakeholders to inform implementation of ESSA.Eligibility
