Patient Assistance Programs

Geographic Scope: Marion and Polk Counties, Oregon

Overview: Salem Health Foundation provides various patient assistance programs to help individuals access healthcare services and essential items.

Programs Supported:

  • Diaper Depot: Provides free diapers for low-income families in partnership with 11 local food shelves and community partners. As of June 2023, the program was supplying diapers with a trajectory to provide 115,000 diapers by end of December 2023.

  • Child Car Seat Safety Net Program: Provides free car seats to families who cannot afford them or lack proper equipment

  • Colorectal Cancer Screening: Pays for lab testing fees for under-insured and uninsured patients through FIT (Fecal Immunochemical Test)

  • Community Breast Cancer Screening: Annual screening program for women unable to afford services, covering breast imaging and mammograms for women over 40 with household income at 250% of Federal Poverty Guidelines

  • Patient Assistance for Under- & Non-Insured Cancer Patients: Partnership with Oregon Specialty Group to provide chemotherapy treatment for under- or non-insured patients
