Clinical Excellence & Resiliency Grants

Overview: Salem Health Foundation supports staff professional development, resiliency, and workplace wellness initiatives.

Programs Funded (2023-2024):

  • 2024 Nurses Week Stipends: Recognizes 20 nurses and 20 certified nursing assistants with stipends during Nurses Week in May to encourage professional growth and development

  • Resiliency Advocates Incidentals: Supports Staff Engagement & Resiliency Advocates (SERA) providing one-on-one support for frontline staff during crisis with snacks and beverages during counseling

  • Neuro Care Unit Healing & Respite Room: Converted storage room into healing and respite room for nursing staff; available by badge access for 15-minute slots during shifts

  • National Diabetes Day Education: Hosted lunch and learn with multiple booths staffed by Salem Health registered dieticians and certified diabetic nurses

  • Professional Practice Day Posters: Funds printing of professional quality presentation posters for annual showcase of departmental projects

  • Cardiogenic Shock Awareness Campaign: Educational event on September 13, 2023 with speaker, educational booths, demonstration posters, and giveaways

  • Coding Conference - Registration Fees: Funded attendance for two Cath Lab employees at medical coding conference in Las Vegas

  • Heart Month Popsicles: Staff from Cardiac Service Line distribute popsicles to each unit/department during February Heart Month

  • ASAP Training - Acute Stress Adaptive Protocol - Registration Fees: Training for seven Staff Engagement Resiliency Advocate team members to equip with tools to decrease post-traumatic stress symptoms in frontline staff

  • Pi Day Cheers - Employee Appreciation: Provided 3,200 slices of pie for every employee across Salem Health system on March 14, 2024
