Overview

Scholarships Grand Haven Area Community Foundation scholarships are awarded competitively based on criteria set by donors. These criteria could include financial need, the school the applicant is attending, academic achievement, as well as personal or career goals. The Community Foundation has a rigorous internal selection process for each scholarship decision, and each applicant is reviewed in depth, and considered thoroughly. Our scholarship program is simple. You are able to apply once for all foundation scholarships you may be eligible for. Once your application is submitted, you will be eligible for all those for which you meet the requirement. P.E.O. Chapter DS Scholarship Fund P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), one of the pioneer societies for women, was founded on January 21, 1869, by seven students at lowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Originally a small campus friendship society, today, P.E.O. has grown from that tiny membership of seven to almost a quarter of a million members in chapters in the United States and Canada. The P.E.O. Sisterhood is passionate about its mission: promoting educational opportunities for women by providing scholarships, grants, awards and loans. The local chapter, of approximately 60 members, established this scholarship in 2005. It is awarded to a worthy, graduating senior woman from the Tri-Cities area or to a non-traditional female student who is pursuing a degree or certification.
