Non-profits: Applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations located in and serving the citizens of Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and/or Yates counties. The fund will make grant awards within the same geographic areas as the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties of New York.Proposals from faith-based organizations will only be considered if:  service benefits all, regardless of religion; service provided is not religious in nature; and there is no proselytizing associated with the service.Characteristics of eligible grant funded programs/projects include and must demonstrate that they are:open and accessible to the greater communityopen to all regardless of religious affiliationavailable to low-income or underserved individuals

Ineligibility

Organizations may not submit more than one application for funding at a time. The Fund for Women generally does not make grants for the following:Annual campaigns, special event fundraisers or sponsorshipsReligious purposesPolitical or partisan purposesActivities taking place before grant decisions are madeTrips for schools or clubs Deficit funding or debt retirement
