WX Scholars Program

Overview: The WX Scholars Program encourages and supports bright and talented young women pursuing careers in real estate and related professions in the New York metropolitan area.

Status: Active (launched in 2004)

Geographic Scope: New York metropolitan area

Focus Areas: Real estate and related professions including:

  • Architecture

  • Law

  • Engineering

    • Eligibility:

  • Female students

  • Pursuing graduate or undergraduate degrees in real estate and related subjects

  • Must be in their final year of required coursework for the degree and/or major

  • Must be enrolled in school during the full academic year

  • Attending one of 32 partner schools

    • Award Criteria:

  • Academic merit

  • Demonstrated interest in real estate through courses, clubs, internships and experience

  • High likelihood of working in the New York metropolitan area upon graduation

    • Program Benefits:

  • Education and Networking: Participation in WX programming and networking events

  • WX Mentoring Program: Matching with WX mentors and specific programs and networking opportunities as they enter the workforce

  • WX-hosted Events: No-cost admission for up to two years to many WX events, including monthly breakfasts and the WX Woman of the Year Gala

  • Financial Assistance: Monetary scholarships to help offset tuition costs for applicants in need

    • Background: Since program launch in 2004, scholarships have been awarded to 477 women at 32 schools totaling approximately $2.4 million in full scholarships.
