Altman Foundation Grants - Education

The Altman Foundation (a ~100-year-old New York City private foundation) invests in organizations expanding high-quality learning. Education objectives: (1) provide disadvantaged children/youth more high-quality learning time through early-childhood, afterschool, summer and expanded-learning programs; and (2) increase access to and success in high-quality post-secondary education for underserved students. Priority to initiatives expanding/enhancing multiple programs or schools across a system or network. Eligibility: U.S. 501(c)(3) organizations (not private foundations) operating within New York State, focused almost without exception on the five boroughs of New York City; no grants to individuals, and no funding for bricks-and-mortar/capital, galas/fundraising events, budget deficits, or public universities.
