Note:  Applications must be submitted by Mar 1 for the Spring Grant Cycle and Sep 1 for the Fall Grant Cycle. If a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, applications are due the next business day. The North Georgia Housing and Homeless Council The North Georgia Housing and Homeless Council is an administrative agency of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church created to partner with and support churches and other organizations that are ministering to those experiencing poverty and homelessness. The Council awards grants to churches and non-profits that provide housing, food pantries, rental and utility assistance, clothing closets, and other services to our neighbors in need. Types of Grants NGHHC offers several types of grants throughout the year: Operational Grants Up to $2,500 to support ongoing ministry operations.Awarded during the Fall grant cycle. Capital Grants Up to $10,000 for construction, renovation, or durable fixtures and appliances related to housing or permanent facilities.Awarded during the Spring grant cycle. Habitat Grants Up to $5,000 to support Habitat for Humanity projects.Awarded during the Spring grant cycle. Emergency Grants Up to $1,000 for urgent or unexpected needs.Availability is vey limited; please contact the NGHHC office before applying.

Eligibility

Applicants must: Be a local United Methodist Church or non-profit organization (recognized by the IRS) serving people who are homeless or very low-income within the North Georgia Conference.Non-profit organizations must have an ongoing relationship with a United Methodist Church, which will serve as the endorsing church for the application.

Ineligibility

The Housing and Homeless Council does not fund preschool, after school, or summer camp programs unless they are specifically for children who are experiencing homelessness.
