Overview

Overview

The New Albany Foundation was formed in 1995 by a group of forward-thinking community leaders who wanted to create a public, not-for-profit organization that would advance the aspirations of the community in perpetuity. A registered 501(c)(3) organization, the Foundation is a component fund of the Columbus Foundation.
The Foundation Board of Trustees adopted four strategic areas of impact:

* life-long learning
* arts & culture
* health & wellness
* sustainable environment & historic preservation

To make the best use of available funds, the Foundation seeks applications that include one of more of the following conditions when reviewing application requests:

* The program/project positively impacts many people in the Greater New Albany Community boundaries, especially in the areas of lifelong learning, the arts, health and wellness and the environment;
* The proposed program/project will continue and expand beyond the grant period;
* The support from the Foundation would be vital or important to program/project success but not the sole funding source;
* The program/project is a well-planned approach to solving a problem and delivering services innovatively and efficiently;
* The program/project promotes cooperation among organizations including reduced expenses by sharing resources without duplication of service.
