Overview

NOTE: Our application period runs from June 15 to July 15 each year and is by invite only. Who We Are We work to eliminate poverty in Fairfield County by finding and funding programs that seek to achieve lasting change. Each year Near & Far Aid makes a positive impact on thousands of people in Fairfield County by granting over $1 million to the best local agencies that are targeting poverty and changing lives. The hungry are fed; the homeless are sheltered. The working poor are stabilized and on a path to self-sufficency. The next generation will get a leg-up. Our all-volunteer Board works diligently to ensure our donors’ dollars have maximum impact. Mission Near & Far Aid, an all-volunteer fundraising and fund granting organization, is dedicated to eliminating the causes and effects of poverty in Fairfield County. We accomplish our mission by finding and funding programs that provide life’s most basic necessities, as well as those that seek to achieve lasting change. Ways We Help Emergency Services Food, shelter and clothing. Sadly, thousands of people in Fairfield County don’t have access to these basic necessities. Near & Far Aid grants fund the most effective providers of relief to the neediest in our community. Economic Security Job training, financial literacy, affordable housing. With proper support services and a path toward self-sufficiency, the funds granted by Near & Far Aid assist the working poor and provide stability and hope. Education and Support All children have a right to a safe home and an education regardless of zip code. Near & Far Aid is firmly committed to Fairfield County’s children. Our funding provides safe spaces to learn and thrive as well as offering protective services.
