Funding Focus

The organization funds program costs only. General overhead operating costs are not funded.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on:

• How well the application fits within the giving theme
• General stability and quality of the organization seeking funding
• Overall impact of the proposed project, including data on past success rates and number of people who will be helped

Featured Beneficiaries (2022)

• Malta House (Norwalk, CT) - Transitional living program for homeless mothers and their children providing long-term support towards independence
• The Rowan Center (Stamford, CT) - Provides counseling and support to survivors of sexual assault and eliminates sexual violence through education
• St. Joseph Parenting Center (Stamford, CT) - Strengthens families at risk of child abuse and neglect by providing education and resource support

Grant Requirements

• Money must be spent in full within one year of receipt
• Both large and small requests are welcome

Application Process

1. Submit application through the "APPLY NOW" portal on their website
2. YWL Charity Research Committee meets in fall to begin evaluation process
3. Final appropriations decided after year-end fundraiser (late May)
4. Funds distributed in June
5. All applicants notified of decision at time of distribution

• Organization information demonstrating stability and quality
