Overview

Each year, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) awards grants and fellowships that fund work focused on the treatment, prevention, and cure of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and comorbidities. NPF has invested over $30 million in grants and fellowships focused on psoriatic disease and related comorbidities. As a primary goal in the current strategic plan, leading transformational research in psoriatic disease, NPF chooses research projects not only for their potential to yield information that may help treat psoriatic disease, but also to answer basic questions about the underlying disease mechanisms, comorbidities, and public health. Applications undergo a rigorous scientific peer review by a panel of experts. Discovery Grants Discovery Grants fund researchers while they explore preliminary ideas and conduct proof-of-concept experiments. The goal is to stimulate the development of new research programs in the field of psoriatic disease capable of competing for long-term funding from the National Institutes of Health or similar agencies in the future. Budget and Project Period Applicants may request up to $75,000 (direct costs only) per year. The total project period for the application submitted is one year, from October 1st to September 30th.
