Eligible Uses of Funds
- Applicants: Must be aspiring or established artists residing in Adams County
- Project Requirements: - Must include a public component - Must demonstrate focus on arts education - Must use one or more of these disciplines: - Fine Arts - Performing Arts - Literary Arts - Healing Arts - Individual project artists must include a partnering venue in Adams County where the project will be exhibited, performed, taught, or otherwise shared with the community
- Tax Requirements: Artists receiving the award without a partnering 501(c)3 nonprofit organization or school must submit a W-9 and be responsible for any taxes due
Eligibility Requirements
- Written narrative detailing: - Goals as an artist - The project - Project timeline - Description of art discipline(s) to be explored/used - Educational/public component of the project
- Budget detailing use of funds and any matching funds (matching funds not required)
- Portfolio of artworks previously produced
Required Submissions
- Projects must be completed/funds expended within one year of grant award
- Final report must be submitted within 30 days of project completion and no later than 12 months and 30 days after issuance of award

1. Prepare a written narrative that includes:
- Your goals as an artist
- Description of your project
- Project timeline
- Description of the art discipline(s) you will explore/use
- The educational/public component of your project
2. Create a detailed budget that includes:
- How you will use the funds
- Any matching funds supporting the project (not required)
3. Compile a portfolio of artworks you have produced in the past
4. Mail your complete application by February 1 to:
- Adams County Arts Council
- Attn: Mel Shull and Nan Hatzes Memorial Fund Grants

- Gettysburg, PA 17325
5. If selected, complete your project within one year of the award
6. Submit a final report evaluating your project:
- Within 30 days of project completion
