Munster Education Foundation Grants

Overview:
The Munster Education Foundation awards grants bimonthly to fund innovative programs, dynamic teaching tools, and hands-on learning experiences across Munster schools. Last year, MEF awarded more than $100,000 in grants to more than 45 teachers with 13,774 student engagements.

    Eligibility

  • Applicants: Any educator may request a grant, including teachers, aides, parents, administrators, and community members
  • Schools Served: All five Munster schools (Elliott Elementary, Eads Elementary, Frank Hammond Elementary, Wilbur Wright Middle School, Munster High School)

    Funding Priorities

    Top consideration is given to grants that:
  • Provide innovative and/or experiential learning experiences
  • Impact a large number of students
  • Demonstrate collaborative interest (staff or teachers submitting across grades, departments, or reaching students across an entire school)
  • Advance diverse, equitable and inclusive educational experiences and opportunities for all Munster students

Award Schedule

Grants are funded bimonthly in September, November, January, March, and May after approval from the MEF board and respective school principals.

    Required Application Components

    Applicants must complete all sections of the application, which requires responses on:

    1. Project Description and Participant Information
    - Description of the project
    - Information about participants/students who will benefit

    2. Goals and Anticipated Impact
    - Specific goals of the grant
    - Expected impact on students and learning

    3. Detailed Financial Request
    - Itemized budget
    - Cost breakdown for all materials/resources requested

    Approval Requirements

    Grant recipients must confirm:

  • School Principal Approval: Confirmation of approval from the respective school's principal

  • STM IT Approval: If the request is for software, STM IT approval is required

  • Marketing Permission: Agree to allow MEF to use the grant for marketing/promotional purposes
