Overview: The Mini Grant is available for educational projects up to $1,000. Funding is available at any time during the school year with a decision on funding within 14 days of submission.

    Eligibility

  • Kentwood Public Schools educators only
  • Individuals may apply for one (1) Mini Grant per school year
  • Technology-related requests must be reviewed by KPS administration before submission

    What KPSEF Cannot Fund

  • Consumable items (food, ordinary teacher supplies, subscriptions, etc.)
  • Student transportation
  • Teacher professional development (PD)
  • Continuation of previously approved programs

    Important Notes

  • Availability is limited by the grant budget for the year
  • Decision made within 14 days of submission
  • Grant approval and funding amount are at the discretion of the KPSEF Board of Directors, subject to availability of funds and KPSEF priorities
  • Approved grants are sent to the administration office for allocation to the school
  • Technology Notice: Before submitting technology-related requests, contact Evan Hordyk at evan.hordyk@kentwoodps.org for review by KPS administration

1. Complete the Grant Application Form (available on kpsef.org/grant-application)
2. Ensure all required form fields are completed
3. Submit required attachments (check application form for specific requirements)
4. For technology-related requests: Email Evan Hordyk at evan.hordyk@kentwoodps.org for KPS administration review before submission
5. Submit application through the online grant application portal

    Important Application Notes

  • Check for similar technologies that may already be available in the district or underused resources within your school/district
  • Consider showcasing your grant and its benefits at the annual Red and Black Gala held in February
  • Submission of a successful grant authorizes KPSEF to use photos, students' work, and other materials on their website and/or in publicity (student photos require pre-approval)
  • You are competing for grant money; put your best effort into the application
  • Decision on funding within 14 days of submission
  • Individuals may apply for one (1) Mini Grant and one (1) Falcon Grant per school year
