Medica Foundation Grant: MN Early Childhood Health

The Medica Foundation Grant for MN Early Childhood Health supports early intervention programs aimed at the growth and development of children from birth to age 12. With a focus on health equity, the grant prioritizes proposals that serve marginalized communities, including BIPOC, immigrants, and individuals experiencing homelessness. Grants can be up to $100,000 and are awarded to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations in Minnesota. This initiative aims to improve healthcare access and quality through measurable outcomes.

NOTE: Medica is currently developing new strategies around community giving. Beginning in 2023, the Medica Foundation’s service area has changed.

Minnesota: Early Childhood Health Grant
We seek proposals that support early intervention programs that foster optimal growth and development for children from birth through age 12. We prioritize proposals that strategically align their work to advance health equity for the following communities:
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)Immigrants and refugeesIndividuals experiencing homelessnessIndividuals living in rural areasLGBTQ+Youth in or aging out of foster care
We'll prioritize proposals that address:
Abuse preventionCulturally-focused careEarly childhood health workforceMaternal health and birth equity (e.g., prenatal/perinatal care and doula support)Oral healthParenting skillsPrimary care and immunizationsSocial-emotional learning
Funding
Individual grants may be awarded up to $100,000.

Eligibility

To request a grant, your organization must be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, public/governmental agency, or Tribal Nation located in and providing services in Minnesota. A public agency is an organization established and primarily funded by a unit of government.Examples could include a public school, public health department or state governmental agency.The Medica Foundation considers only single-year grant requests.
Nonprofit organizations are eligible to receive one grant within a calendar year.

Programs, such as camps, that are one-time experiences are also ineligible.
