Our Story Founded in 1959, the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation began as a family vision to strengthen public education in Ohio. More than 65 years later, we continue to honor that vision—supporting outstanding teachers and expanding opportunities for students across the state. From the beginning, our focus has been clear: recognize excellence in Ohio’s public schools and ensure teachers and students receive the support they deserve. Teacher Awards The Foundation recognizes outstanding PK - 12 educators annually in these categories: Arthur S. Holden Teacher Science Teacher of the Year Award - honors our Foundation's founder. The award will fund a science project.George B. Chapman, Jr. Math Teacher of the Year Award - honors our Foundation's past Chairman. The award will fund a mathematics project.Ohio Master Teacher of the Year Award - will fund any project.George B. Milbourn Team Teachers of the Year Award - will fund a team project.
