Martha Holden Jennings Foundation- Superintendent Award Grant

The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation offers the Superintendent Award to honor outstanding Ohio superintendents. Established in 1959, the award recognizes the commitment of educators and supports public school leadership in Ohio. With a $10,000 grant payable to the winner's district, the award aims to highlight the importance of effective educational leadership. Nominees must have a minimum of five years of experience as a superintendent and hold a Master’s Degree and state certification, ensuring a high standard of excellence.

What began over 65 years ago as a family operation, continues today with board and staff members that embody the spirit of family.
Together, Martha Holden Jennings and her second cousin, Arthur S. Holden, Jr., founded the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation in 1959. Their intent was to recognize and support Ohio’s public-school teachers and students, a population they believed had been overlooked in philanthropic circles in favor of higher education.
Ohio Superintendent of the Year Award
We are pleased to offer your district the opportunity to nominate the superintendent for the Ohio Superintendent of the Year Award. The $10,000 award will be payable to the school district in the winner’s name.
A representative committee of educators will select the superintendent to be honored. He or she will be recognized as the Ohio award winner at the Foundation’s annual Educators Awards Banquet in July.

Eligibility

Candidates must have five years of experience as an Ohio Superintendent of Schools and must have served in his or her current position for at least two years. The candidate must have a Master’s Degree and appropriate certification by the State of Ohio.
