Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (LECS)

Program Overview:
Since 1998, the LaGrange County Community Foundation has been a proud partner of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program, which has provided 43 students from LaGrange County with financial means to complete post-secondary education.

Award Details:

Full Tuition Scholarship: Covers full tuition to any accredited Indiana college

Book and Equipment Allowance: Up to $900 (room and board not included)

Lambright Leadership Scholarship: Finalists not selected as LECS recipient receive $4,000 over four years ($1,000/year)

Geographic Scope: LaGrange County, Indiana

Eligible High Schools:

Lakeland Jr/Sr High School

Prairie Heights High School

Westview Jr-Sr High School

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a resident of LaGrange County

Must be an accredited LaGrange County high school graduating senior (graduating from Lakeland, Prairie Heights, or Westview)

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75

Planning to enroll in an accredited Indiana college in fall 2026

Must enroll in a four-year college degree program

October 7, 2025: Top five finalists announced

October 14, 2025: Finalist Scholarship Workshop

October 21, 2025: Finalist Personal Interviews

Early December 2025: Scholarship recipient announced

Selection Process:

Lilly Scholarship Advisory Committee reviews applications

Top five finalists invited to participate in finalist interviews in October

Finalists complete impromptu essay at Scholarship Workshop

Finalists prepare 5-7 minute digital presentation for Personal Interview

Committee nominates finalist and submits selection to Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI) for final approval
