Overview

For over 100 years, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) has been supporting the philanthropic interests of donors who want to effect change in their communities. Scholarships It is through the generosity of local individuals, families, and businesses that we are able to offer more than 190 scholarship opportunities. TFEC is the largest provider of scholarships in South Central, Pennsylvania, awarding over $1.7 million in scholarships to more than 400 local students alone through various scholarship funds administered by TFEC and through management agreements with the Samuel L. Abrams Foundation, the Leon Lowengard and Ray S. Shoemaker scholarships of BNY Mellon, N.A. and York Rotary Club. Joseph L. and Vivian E. Steele Music Scholarship Income of the Lou Drane Fund and the Joseph L. and Vivian E. Steele Fund is used annually to grant scholarships to students of classical music in the fields of composition, teaching, and performance. There is only one application to complete through the universal application. Renewability Recipients of this scholarship may apply again.
