The Foundation for Enhancing Communities The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) is a community foundation serving South Central Pennsylvania with a mission to inspire giving, partner with donors to achieve their charitable goals, and strengthen local communities for current and future generations. Guided by core values of inclusion, stewardship, endurance, and integrity, TFEC invests in a broad range of community needs through grantmaking, donor-advised funds, nonprofit services, and regional initiatives. Its funding priorities include early childhood education, women and girls’ well-being, arts and culture, community development, health and human services, and other programs that advance equity and long-term community impact. TFEC Student Emergency Assistance Fund The TFEC Student Emergency Assistance Fund will provide financial support to meet the emergency needs of students in situations that may prevent them from persisting in their post-secondary program. The fund will make grants to individuals up to $500 per application. Students may re-apply for funding up to a maximum of $1,500 in total. Student must be a recipient of a TFEC scholarship within the past 4 years Must be currently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning or technical school Must be experiencing a financial hardship that will hinder academic progress (some examples would include: financial hold on account, medical expenses, living expenses, and transportation) Must be able to show proof of expense and financial need Emergent situation must have occurred within the last 90 days or emergency expense is due within the next 90 days
