Impact Teaching Grants

Overview: The Hood River County Education Foundation created the Impact Teaching Grants program to help Hood River County School District educators fund ideas that would not normally be covered by the HRCSD budget.

Status: Active

Geographic Scope: Hood River County School District, Oregon

Focus Areas: Innovative teaching projects across all subject areas including:

  • STEM (microscopes, robotics programs, air quality monitoring)

  • Arts in Education

  • Literacy programs

  • Music programs

  • Environmental education

  • Technology integration

  • Student enrichment initiatives
  • Eligibility:

  • Open to any Hood River County School District teacher or staff member

  • Projects at all HRCSD schools (elementary, middle, high school, and alternative schools)
  • Funding History: Since inception, the program has provided over $500,000 in 445 grant awards

    Example Projects Funded:

  • Garden to Table (life skills and plant science)

  • Playground Communication Boards (inclusive communication for all students)

  • Air Quality Monitoring (chemistry and earth science)

  • Spanish Books for Bilingual Literacy

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Availability: The application form becomes available via Kaleidoscope on November 1 each year
    2. Submission: Applications are submitted through the Kaleidoscope platform
    3. Reporting: Grant recipients must complete an Impact Teaching Grant Report Form to describe how they applied the grant funds
    4. Report Submission Options:

    - Hand-delivery to Foundation office
