IAGLR Scholarship Grant

The IAGLR Scholarship supports promising Ph.D. students conducting research on large lakes, facilitating academic excellence in Great Lakes science. Awarded annually by the International Association for Great Lakes Research, this scholarship offers up to two recipients $2,000 each, free conference registration, and a complimentary IAGLR membership. Recipients must present their research at the annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, ensuring their work contributes to understanding these vital ecosystems.

The IAGLR Scholarship is awarded annually to promising Ph.D. students whose dissertation research is likely to make a significant contribution to the understanding of large lakes. Winner(s) are announced at IAGLR's annual Conference on Great Lakes Research. Recipients are expected to present their research at the conference.
Purpose
The IAGLR Scholarship is awarded annually to promising Ph.D. students who are IAGLR members and whose research is likely to make a significant contribution to the understanding of large lakes. Funded by IAGLR, the scholarship is intended to promote academic excellence by encouraging young scientists to undertake graduate research in Great Lakes ecosystem health and to enter the field of Great Lakes science.

Terms and Conditions
The IAGLR Scholarship will be awarded with the recipient’s prior understanding and acknowledgement that they will present their supported research at IAGLR's annual Conference on Great Lakes Research.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant mustbe a Ph.D. student whose proposed research topic is relevant to large lakesnot have received the award previouslynot be a current member of the IAGLR Board of Directors or part of a current board member's immediate family (parents, children, spouse, siblings)
