Summary
The IAGLR International Travel Award offers financial assistance to master's and Ph.D. students, as well as post-doctoral fellows from outside the U.S. and Canada, to attend the annual Conference on Great Lakes Research. This initiative aims to foster international collaboration, particularly with researchers from low- and middle-income countries, while emphasizing the importance of large lakes research. The funds can only be used for conference-related expenses in the award year.Overview
IAGLR confers one or two awards (based on availability of funds) to provide travel support for a master's, Ph.D. student or a post-doctoral fellow from countries outside of the United States or Canada to attend IAGLR's annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, which alternates each year between a Canadian and United States site. The International Travel Award implements IAGLR’s intent to broaden its scope to large lakes internationally. Through the travel scholarship, IAGLR seeks to expand relationships with researchers outside the United States and Canada; to provide opportunities for international students and recent graduates to benefit from the IAGLR research community; and to build capacity and engage members from low- middle-income countries. Funds are restricted to covering the costs of attending the IAGLR Conference in the year of the award. If travel to the Conference does not occur in the year of the conferring of the award, funds are forfeited.Eligibility
