  • Historical, architectural, or archaeological research of a particular structure, property, site, or district that may enhance preservation goals in the city
  • Scholarly research conducted on Alexandria's architectural or cultural history

    Award Details

  • Typical award: Up to $5,000
  • Larger awards: Available for projects judged to be of high need or merit
  • Matching requirement: Some grants may require matching funds from other sources
  • Award determination: Amount and date determined by HAF; grantees notified by U.S. mail by a Fund officer

    Reporting Requirements

  • Interim progress reports required (depending on grant size and project length)
  • Final report required: Within 30 days after project completion
  • Reports will be presented at the Foundation's Annual Meeting
  • Partial payments made based on interim progress reports
