Critical Land Acquisition Program (CLAP) — Conservation Allies

The Critical Land Acquisition Program (CLAP) funds conservation partners to purchase and permanently protect parcels of critical habitat for Endangered species, worldwide, with a typical grant of $25K–$50K and 100% of grant funds going to land acquisition. Fact priorities: properties essential to IUCN Critically Endangered or Endangered species and recognized Species Rarity Sites; parcels that link, buffer or extend existing Protected Areas; and projects with co-financing or matching commitments. Fact eligibility: IUCN Member organization (or actively applied for membership); land with the required legal documentation ready for acquisition; located within a Species Rarity Site or connecting to an existing Protected Area; and 100% of grant funds allocated to direct land acquisition and designation costs. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as a strategic acquisition opportunity emerges.
