International Ranger Awards (First Edition)

Overview: Conservation Allies, in collaboration with IUCN, the World Commission on Protected Areas, the International Ranger Federation, and Global Wildlife Conservation, developed the International Ranger Awards to recognize the remarkable work of rangers in protected and conserved areas around the world.

Award Structure: Ten awardees each receive:

  • US$10,000 to support their organization's work

  • A unique uniform patch
  • Geographic Scope: Global - open to rangers worldwide

    Ranger Types: Awards open to the diversity of rangers across the world, recognizing the wide range of work they do. Includes Indigenous rangers, community rangers, volunteer rangers, and professionally employed rangers in protected areas.

    Status: This was the first edition of the awards, with nominations that were open through December 31 (year unspecified in document).
