Overview:
The Grassroots Arts Grants program is designed to help nonprofit organizations use the arts to accomplish their missions and serve their communities. Organizations use these funds to hire local artists and implement arts programming.

Eligibility

• Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
• Must have been in operation for at least one year
• Must have an arts mission OR a program that uses the arts to help accomplish your mission
• Must be based in Chatham County OR carry out the project in Chatham County

Award Amount

• Cash grants range from $500 to $2,500
• Total funding varies by year (examples: $8,640 in 2014, ~$9,000 in 2015-16, $12,000+ in 2018)

• Individual contributions to the Chatham County Arts Council's general operating fund
• North Carolina Arts Council (designated county partner program)
• Department of Natural & Cultural Resources
• National Endowment for the Arts
