Gifts & Grants Program

Each year, Pasadena Showcase awards gifts and grants to a broad and diverse list of non-profit organizations to support their efforts in the community. The organization underwrites concerts to ensure that the joy of live music is made available to a wide range of audiences.

Focus Areas

• Music education at all levels
• Music therapy for at-risk children
• Underwriting of concerts
• Purchase of instruments and uniforms
• Choirs, musical theater, school marching bands
• Dance programs, opera, jazz bands and orchestras
• Other art programs

Eligibility

• Eligible applicants: Organizations classified as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and local schools
• Geographic scope: Programs administered and conducted in the County of Los Angeles with special consideration given to the greater Pasadena area of California
• Not eligible: Individuals, for-profit organizations

What PSHA Does Not Fund

• Construction
• Debt reduction

Grant Size

Grant size varies from program to program. Generally smaller grants support community-based and direct-service organizations; more substantial grants support larger organizations and services such as symphonic associations.

Application Process

• Applications submitted on Common Grant Application Site
• Deadline: November 15 (annual)
• Notifications sent in April
• Organizations may submit multiple applications per year
• Organizations may receive more than one grant (for different departments, projects, or schools)
• New proposals may be submitted each year

Reporting Requirements

• Current grant recipients must fulfill all terms and reporting requirements before submitting a new proposal
• Final or Interim Reports must be submitted on Common Grant Application Site

How to Apply

1. Visit the Common Grant Application Site
2. Complete the application form with the following required materials:
   • Introduction PDF (available on website)
   • Grant Guidelines PDF (available on website)
   • W9 Form PDF (available on website)
3. Submit application by November 15 (annual deadline)

• Each request reviewed independently using guidelines and evaluated on its own merits
