Overview
U.S. EPA Clean Water Act grants from the Utah Division of Water Quality supporting watershed-based initiatives that support watershed plans, pilot projects, technical assistance and information exchange. Eligible projects include agricultural improvements (BMPs), irrigation modernization, livestock management, animal waste management, soil health, stream/riparian/wetland restoration, urban stormwater and green infrastructure, planning/monitoring/technical support, and septic system improvements. Requires 40% mandatory nonfederal cost share. A 9-Element Watershed plan accepted by the Utah Division of Water Quality must be in place to qualify. Priority given to projects promoting voluntary pollution reduction, innovative nature-based solutions, riparian health, rangeland health, stormwater BMPs using low impact development principles, capacity building, strategic alignment with TMDLs or watershed plans, and public participation/outreach.
