Employee Justice Summer Clerkship

Program Description:
A prestigious 10-week fellowship program for law students demonstrating interest in employment law and social justice issues. Students are hired by California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) member law firms and are eligible to receive fellowship funding from FAIR in addition to salary from their hiring firm.

Award Amount:

  • FAIR fellowship funding: $4,000-$6,400 per award

  • Firm salary: Students can earn $20,000 or more during the 10-week clerkship

  • Special awards: John D. Weiss award includes additional $1,000 stipend (given to student exemplifying generosity, passion for worker justice, and inspiration despite adversities)

  • How to Apply:
    1. Apply through the CELA interview program (on-campus interviews conducted by CELA's Diversity Outreach Committee)

    3. Once hired by a CELA member firm, submit fellowship application by December 31
