Emerging Pork Leaders Carolina

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be in high school (junior or senior) or college
  • Must live in North Carolina or be native to North Carolina
  • Must be involved in or interested in pork industry

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify threats facing agriculture and pork industry

  • Confidently engage with neighbors and on social media about industry
  • Program Format

    • Four sessions total: Two in-person, two virtual
    • In-person sessions: Mandatory for all participants
    • Meeting format: Mixture of in-person and virtual sessions

    Ambassador Opportunities

    After completing program, participants can:

  • Engage with public and share industry story by volunteering at NC State Fair and other events

  • Attend program reunion at NC Pork Council annual conference in Raleigh

  • Engage with industry professionals at events
