Each academic department can apply for up to $1500 for on-campus visits by guest lecturers or performers, promoting collaboration and communication with the IML. Priority is given to departments that did not receive funding last year. A limited number of grants are awarded annually, ensuring impactful experiences for students.

Overview

The Eastman Departmental Residency and Colloquium Grant offers funding for activities that support the IML’s mission within the school. The Institute for Music Leadership creates career and leadership development opportunities for musicians on and off the stage. These funds support collaboration between the IML and other Eastman departments to bring in external guests for presentations, panels, and other relevant experiences. Communication and collaboration between the applying department and IML is expected before, during, and after the event to receive granted funds. Departmental Grant Each academic department is eligible to apply annually for up to $1500 towards the expenses of an on-campus visit from a guest lecturer, presenter, or performer whose activities meet the learning outcomes established by the IML. Funding will be awarded to successful applications in the order they are received. Only 7-8 departments will receive funding during the academic year.

Ineligibility

Due to University financial protocols, the IML cannot retroactively award funding for guest visits that have already taken place.Departmental and New Faculty Grants may not be combined for the same guest visit.
