DVLF General Grants

The Delaware Valley Legacy Fund (DVLF) provides critical funding annually to organizations working on the front lines to address the emerging needs of the region's LGBTQ+ community.

Geographic Scope: Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and New Castle County, Delaware.

Funding Areas:

• Legal and civil rights
• Arts and culture
• Education and the humanities
• Health and social services

Eligibility:

• The majority of the constituency served by the applying organization (or by the specific program for which funding is requested) must identify as LGBTQ+
• DVLF especially encourages applications from organizations serving:
  • People of color
  • Transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals
  • Low-income communities
• Applications welcomed from both established institutions and smaller grassroots organizations

What DVLF Does NOT Fund:

• Grants to individuals
• Grants to for-profit organizations or institutions
• National, umbrella, or re-granting organizations
• Deficit financing or emergency assistance
• Purchase of tickets, tables, ads, or sponsorships
• Parties or one-time fairs and events

Funding Source: Grants are awarded through DVLF's endowment at The Philadelphia Foundation, as well as through general fundraising efforts and partnerships with other philanthropic groups and individuals.

Mission: DVLF is the leading funder of emerging needs in the LGBTQ+ community of the greater Philadelphia area. DVLF strives to meet all of the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, invest in its future by allowing the community to define its own needs through the grant-making process, and believes in equitable funding for the LGBTQ+ community.
