Overview

Each year the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund provides funding to organizations working on the front lines to address the emerging needs of the region's LGBTQ+ community. The 2026-2027 grant cycle is open and closes at 5pm on Friday 16 October.

Grants support a wide range of areas, including legal and civil rights, arts and culture, education and the humanities, and health and social services. Funding is directed to organizations serving Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and New Castle County, Delaware. Applications are welcomed from both established institutions and smaller grassroots organizations.

Grants are awarded through DVLF's endowment at The Philadelphia Foundation, as well as through general fundraising efforts and partnerships with other philanthropic groups and individuals. While DVLF supports a broad spectrum of organizations, funding priorities may at times be focused to align with specific partnership opportunities and to address the most pressing needs of the LGBTQ+ community.

How to Apply

The majority of the constituency served by the applying organization — or by the specific program for which funding is requested — must identify as LGBTQ+. DVLF especially encourages applications from organizations serving people of color, transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals, and low-income communities.

DVLF does not fund: grants to individuals; grants to for-profit organizations or institutions; national, umbrella, or re-granting organizations; deficit financing or emergency assistance; purchase of tickets, tables, ads, or sponsorships; parties or one-time fairs and events.

Apply through the grant application on the DVLF website. Questions: info@dvlf.org.
