Program Status: Applications for 2026 are closed. Applications for 2027 will open in August 2026.

Background: Since 2015, the Delta Dental of Kentucky Foundation has donated more than $28 million to support programs and services that improve oral health and quality of life for citizens across Kentucky. The Foundation supports more than 25 dental clinics throughout the Commonwealth.

Funding Allocation

• 70% of funds committed to dental treatment and oral healthcare education
• 30% of funds committed to Kentucky nonprofits providing general community support (arts education, cancer research, individual and family services)

Funding Priorities

Delta Dental gives preference to organizations and initiatives that focus on:
• Improvement of oral health care in Kentucky
• Programs serving at-risk, underserved, and uninsured individuals
• Dental clinics and oral health education
• Community partnerships that advance oral health

Geographic & Service Requirements

• Applicants must service or benefit individuals and communities within Kentucky
• Proposals must clearly advance oral health care in Kentucky

Eligibility Requirements

Organizations must meet ALL of the following criteria:
• Tax-exempt status: Must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code OR working for community benefit
• Kentucky service: Must service or benefit individuals and communities within Kentucky
• Mission alignment: Proposal must clearly advance oral health care in Kentucky

Organizations Specifically EXCLUDED

• Individuals
• Organizations that discriminate by race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or national origin
• Political activities, organizations, or campaigns
• Loans
• Projects developed for commercial or proprietary purposes
• Past grantees that have failed to provide charitable contribution surveys or other requested documentation

Grant Recipient Requirements

New and current grant recipients must:
• Complete a service value worksheet and grant report upon completion of project or when grant funds are spent
• Submit reports by February 15th of the following funding year
• Work with Delta Dental of Kentucky to promote grant partnerships through media opportunities, organizational materials, and social media

Grant Cycle Timeline

• Application Period: Beginning fall 2025
• Notification: December 2025
• Report Due Date: February 15th of the following year
