Geographic Scope: Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana

Focus Areas:

• Programs promoting oral health access
• Oral health education
• Dental research
• Facility improvements related to oral health

Eligibility:

• Charitable organizations and programs
• Schools (prekindergarten through grade 12)
• Universities and colleges
• Organizations must not discriminate by race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or national origin

What They Don't Fund:

• Building construction
• Organization's normal overhead expenses (including salaries)
• Grants to individuals (except leadership awards, scholarships, research grants, and community service awards)
• Organizations that discriminate
• Political activities, organizations, or campaigns
• Projects developed for commercial or proprietary purposes

Evaluation Criteria:

• Programs the organization is engaged in
• Constituencies served
• Accountability and fundraising practices
• Level of community engagement
• Availability of alternative funding sources
• Program viability
• Potential impact on oral health or dental science

Additional Information:

• DDF invested $6.4 million in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana over the past year
• Donated 350,000 toothbrushes
• Impacted 2.6 million lives

How to Apply

1. Complete the grant request application - Available on the Delta Dental Foundation website
2. Submit the application - Follow submission requirements outlined in grant guidelines
3. Reporting requirement - Grant recipients must complete and submit a grant reporting form within one year of receiving funds or prior to receiving additional funding, whichever comes first
