Overview

Cottey College Scholarship Funds

Purpose: Funds established through the P.E.O. Foundation specifically for payment of Cottey College scholarships.

Geographic Scope: Students attending Cottey College

Fund Establishment: Donors may establish funds with income automatically transferred annually or accumulated until sufficient to pay full award to Cottey College scholarships.

Fund Eligibility

  • Only students enrolled in U.S. or Canadian accredited postsecondary institution eligible for scholarship awards
  • P.E.O. Foundation scholarship recipients must be citizens or legal permanent residents of U.S. or Canada
  • Exception: Different eligibility rules apply for scholarships paid to students attending Cottey College

Fund Establishment Requirements (Effective July 1, 2026)

  • US $2,000 initial deposit required (toward minimum permanent balance)
  • Minimum permanent balance of US $10,000 required
  • Minimum permanent balance must be reached within five years

Fund Structure Options

1. Donor-Selected Recipients: Funds established where your scholarship committee chooses the recipient
2. Cottey College Selected Recipients: Transfer fund to Cottey College for their personnel to select recipient

Fund Establishment Process

Forms Available:

  • Online Form to Establish a Fund in the P.E.O. Foundation

  • PDF Form to Establish a Fund in the P.E.O. Foundation
  • Steps:
    1. Contact P.E.O. Foundation for consultation
    2. Complete fund establishment form (online or PDF)
    3. Submit PDF form by mail to P.E.O. office (if using PDF option)
    4. Provide initial deposit of $2,000 (effective July 1, 2026)
    5. Work toward minimum permanent balance of $10,000 within five years

    For Chapters Considering Scholarship Funds:
    Chapters should use provided checklist during conversations to determine if establishing a scholarship fund is appropriate for their chapter. Foundation encourages chapters to maintain continued focus on international projects of P.E.O. and ensure giving to international projects will not be impacted.
